Melissa
S. LaRocco, Esq.
Ms.
LaRocco is the Pro Bono Director for Legal Aid of Western Ohio,
Inc. (LAWO). Ms. LaRocco brings to the pro bono program a record of
excellence in her work and a passion for the missions and clients of
LAWO and its partner law firm Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc.
(ABLE). She is a 2005 graduate of the Ohio Northern
University College
of Law and joined LAWO in 2005 as an AmeriCorps Attorney assigned to
the Fremont office. In that position she represented clients
in
housing related cases and was involved in community organizations
seeking to promote safe, affordable housing. Following the
end of her
AmeriCorps term of service in 2007, Ms. LaRocco remained at LAWO and
with the Fremont office as a staff attorney until September 2013, where
she maintained a steady case-load, continued to be active in numerous
community organizations and provided clients with high quality
representation on a variety of legal issues and matters. Ms.
LaRocco
predominately represented clients in domestic relations issues, public
benefits and advanced directives.
Scott
R. Mote, Esq.
Mr.
Mote is the Executive Director of the Ohio Lawyers Assistance
Program, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. He received the 2005 Award of Merit
for service to the profession by the Columbus Bar Association and the
2006 Ohio Bar Medal by the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. Mote
received his M.A. degree from the University of Dayton. He
has been in
practice since 1977 after graduating from Capital University Law School
and was admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court in
1987. Mr. Mote is a member of the Ohio State, Columbus, and Florida Bar
Associations, the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Foundations, the Central
Ohio Association for Justice, and Central Ohio Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers.
Joseph
M. Caligiuri
Since
2002, Mr. Caligiuri has worked in the Office of Disciplinary
Counsel for the Supreme Court of Ohio, where he is currently the Chief
Assistant to the Disciplinary Counsel. He is responsible for
investigating and prosecuting lawyers and judges accused of ethical
misconduct. Mr. Caligiuri is a frequent lecturer for the OSBA CLE
Institute and is an adjunct professor of law at The Ohio State
University, where he teaches Professional Responsibility. Mr. Caligiuri
was a former prosecutor in Buffalo, NY, and is a graduate of the New
England School of Law and Clemson University MBA Program.

Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO) is a non-profit law firm
that provides
free, high-quality legal services in civil matters to low-income
individuals, families, and groups to help them achieve equal
opportunity, equality, and self-reliance within the community. Serving
32 counties in western Ohio, from offices in Dayton, Defiance, Findlay,
Lima, Sandusky, Springfield, and Toledo, LAWO provides a full range of
legal services, including negotiation, litigation, and community
education. Special projects serve domestic violence victims, senior
citizens, and migrant farmworkers.

Advocates
for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) was founded in 1969
by a group of
Toledo attorneys and community leaders. Its mission is to provide free,
high-quality legal services in civil matters to low-income individuals,
families, and groups to help them achieve equal opportunity, equality,
and self-reliance within the community. In addition to serving
individuals, ABLE remains dedicated to its original purpose of legal
advocacy to promote systemic change that benefits large groups of
low-income people. ABLE serves 32 counties in western Ohio from offices
in Dayton, Defiance, and Toledo.
About
GDVLP
The
Greater
Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project (GDVLP) creates
innovative
opportunities for attorneys to provide pro bono civil legal services to
benefit persons with limited financial resources. Major areas of
assistance are divorce, custody, consumer, and Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
The GDVLP maintains a list of participating attorneys that numbers more
than 750 in the Miami Valley.
