What difference does your financial contribution make?

  • Access to an attorney increases the safety of domestic violence victims and their children.
  • Legal services can stop the unfair and often illegal eviction of the elderly and the disabled.
  • Help with filing for bankruptcy can save a family from losing their home.
  • Appeal of an improper denial of benefits can help an individual or family gain access to healthcare, food, and especially in cases of disability, a stable source of income.
  • Access to justice preserves human dignity.

ImageAccording to Legal Services Corporation, 80 percent of the civil legal needs of low-income Americans are going unmet, and half of all people who approach legal aid are turned away for lack of law firm resources.

With your support, the ABLE and LAWO combined records of service for 2017 were:

  • 16,110 requests for help
  • 5,451 closed cases
  • 19,937 persons helped
  • $16,628,232 total monetary awards for clients
